you intend to make a copy of.

left-hand column of Windows Explorer and select Copy
Disk, or

disks are highlighted.

Copying Files Between Floppy Disks
- Run Windows Explorer.
- Insert the source disk in the floppy-drive. This is the disk
you intend to copy files from.
- Select the A: drive
- Select the files you wish to copy. To select multiple files
in one block, select the first file in the list, then hold down
the shift key while you click on the last file in the list. If
you wish to select multiple files that are not in a continuous
block, hold down the CTRL key while you select each file by
clicking with the mouse.
- Go to the Edit menu and select copy (or cut, if you
want to remove the files from the original floppy disk).
- Select a temporary location on the C: drive by clicking on
the relevant folder in the list on the left-hand side. This might
be the root folder (not recommended), or preferably a folder
called Temp.
- Go to the edit menu and select Paste.
- A progress bar will be displayed, indicating how far the
copying has got so far.
- Remove the floppy disk and replace it with the floppy disk
you wish to copy the files to.
- Reselect the files in their temporary location on the C:
drive.
- Go to the Edit menu and select cut (presumably, you
don't want to leave them in this temporary location. If you do,
select copy instead).
- Click on the A: drive.
- Go to the Edit menu and select Paste.
Sending a File (Attachment) By Email
- Open Outlook
- From the File menu select New Message.
Alternatively, click the New button in the Toolbar.
- Enter the email address in the To: field.
- Enter a short (a few words) description in the
Subject: field.
- Enter your message in the Body: field.
- Click on the Insert menu.
- Select the file(s) you want to send to send.
If you wish to send more than one file, select blocks of files by
selecting the first file, then hold down the SHIFT key while
selecting the last file. If the files are not in a continuous
block, hold down the CTRL key while selecting each file.
- When you have completed the message, click the Send
button in the toolbar.
Transferring Material Between Files and Applications
Note that Windows provides the ability to copy or move
information from between different applications. This means you can
copy pictures from an art package to a document in a word processor.
There are limits to this feature, but it usually works well, even
retaining the formatting during the transfer.
- Run the application which you normally use to open the file
from which you will be taking the material (the source
file).
- Open the source file.
- Select the material you wish to copy.
- Select the Edit menu and click Copy if you
want to leave the original material in place, or Cut if you want
to remove the material from its original place.
- You can now close the application that holds the source
file.
- Run the application which will hold the file you want to
transfer the material to (the destination file).
- Open the destination file.
- Using the mouse or cursor keys, move the cursor (insertion
pointer) to the position where the material should be
inserted.
- Select the Edit menu and click Paste.
Editting a File Without Changing the Original
- Open the file you want to change, using the appropriate
application.
- Make the changes as required.
- Ensure you can save the new file to the place you want to
save to (e.g. Don't try saving to a CD!)
- Click the File menu in the application you are
using.
- Click Save As.... (Do not click Save).
- Navigate to the location where you want to save the
file.
- Rename the file (if necessary - you only need to give the new
file a different name if you are saving it in the same location
as the original file).
- Click OK.
